THE AMATI APPROACH

Business understanding.
Practical execution.

Meaningful progress begins with a clear understanding of your business, your people and your objectives.

Amati Capital Partners works alongside private business owners to connect strategy, financial decisions and day-to-day operations. We work with businesses across Canada to address performance challenges, evaluate recovery options and prepare for growth, leadership transition or an eventual exit. For international companies expanding into Canada, we coordinate market entry, connect industry partners and help navigate government processes and potential incentives.

We’ve sat on your side of the table. We’ve built businesses, raised capital, led teams and navigated growth and ownership transitions. We bring that firsthand experience to your business—helping you weigh the options, make decisions and put them into action.

From a focused assessment for a local contractor to a complex national or international mandate, we shape our work around your needs and resources. We agree the scope, deliverables and fees with you before work begins.

HOW WE HELP

Clear priorities.
Practical expertise.

Six connected services for owners and leadership teams. Start with your priority and explore the work we can do together.

01

Strategy & business growth

Decide where to focus, invest and grow.

Growth brings choices: which opportunities to pursue, what to stop doing and where to commit resources. We work with owners and leadership teams to assess the business, weigh the options and turn ambition into a direction your people can carry forward.

Practical deliverables

A strategic roadmap with clear priorities, assigned responsibilities, milestones and a management scorecard.

A mandate can include

  • Business assessment. Review your performance, market position, strengths and constraints before setting the direction.
  • Growth priorities. Evaluate new markets, services and business models against your capacity and objectives.
  • Strategic options. Compare organic growth, partnerships, acquisitions or divestments and their resource requirements.
  • Governance and accountability. Connect strategic priorities with management responsibilities and decision-making.
  • Execution support. Set practical milestones and performance measures, then review and adjust the plan with your team.
Discuss your growth priorities
02

Finance, capital & transactions

Connect cash flow, funding and ownership decisions.

Better financial visibility creates better options. We help you understand how the business generates cash, what it needs to fund its plans and how to prepare for a financing, acquisition or sale. Our work connects the financial case with the commercial decisions behind it.

Practical deliverables

A financial forecast, financing readiness package or transaction preparation plan, matched to the decision ahead.

Capital Preservation with Amati Partners Suisse

A mandate can include

  • Financial visibility. Review cash flow, budgets, margins and working capital to identify pressure points and funding needs.
  • Capital planning. Assess financing requirements for growth, projects, acquisitions or refinancing.
  • Financing readiness. Organize financial information, forecasts and the business case for conversations with lenders and capital providers.
  • Mergers and acquisitions. Assess strategic fit, value drivers and business readiness for a purchase, merger or sale.
  • Transaction coordination. Support preparation, due diligence and the transaction process alongside your accounting, legal and tax advisors.
  • Integration priorities. Plan the operational and leadership decisions needed to bring businesses together after a transaction.
Discuss your financing or transaction
03

Leadership, people & succession

Build management depth and prepare the next chapter.

A stronger business needs more than a capable owner. We help clarify how your team makes decisions, where leadership needs to develop and how knowledge can move beyond a few key people. When ownership or leadership is changing, we connect the transition plan with the people who will carry it forward.

Practical deliverables

A leadership responsibility map, governance priorities or a staged succession plan with clear handover milestones.

A mandate can include

  • Leadership structure. Clarify roles, decision authority, reporting relationships and management accountability.
  • Management development. Identify capability gaps and support delegation, leadership development and practical knowledge transfer.
  • Governance. Review board or advisory structures, decision processes and alignment between owners and management.
  • Succession options. Explore family succession, management transition and external sale pathways in the context of the owner’s goals.
  • Transition implementation. Prepare successors, sequence the handover and support communication and business continuity.

Operations & AI implementation

Make work more consistent, productive and accountable.

Growth is harder to sustain when processes, systems and reporting lag behind. We help you understand how work gets done, remove recurring bottlenecks and build more dependable ways of operating. Where AI can add practical value, we connect the opportunity with the workflow, people and controls needed to use it well.

Practical deliverables

An improvement roadmap, practical performance reporting and, where appropriate, a prioritized AI pilot and adoption plan.

Construction & project performance

For construction and real estate businesses, we bring practical experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and project-team accountability to the operational review.

A mandate can include

  • Process improvement. Map workflows, identify delays and rework, and establish clearer operating procedures.
  • Productivity and cost control. Review resource use, scheduling and operating costs to prioritize practical improvements.
  • Performance reporting. Define useful measures, reporting routines and management review processes.
  • AI opportunities. Identify use cases in recurring tasks, information handling and decision support; assess tools, data needs and human oversight.
  • Implementation and adoption. Support pilots, clarify responsibilities and help your team adopt and review the new way of working.
Discuss your operational priorities
05

International expansion & market entry

Turn cross-border ambitions into a practical entry plan.

A new market brings commercial opportunity and a different set of decisions. We support Canadian businesses exploring international growth and foreign companies establishing or expanding in Canada, connecting strategy and financing with local partners, professional advisors and the practical work of market entry.

Practical deliverables

A market-entry assessment, phased expansion plan and map of the partners and advisors needed for implementation.

Explore Canadian market entry

A mandate can include

  • Expansion readiness. Review whether your finances, leadership and operations can support the next market.
  • Market and entry options. Assess target markets, commercial priorities and entry approaches with relevant local expertise.
  • Partner connections. Identify and connect industry partners, business networks and professional advisors.
  • Cross-border financial planning. Coordinate capital needs and banking considerations with financing and local advisors.
  • Canadian market entry. Help foreign companies navigate government processes, relevant agencies and potentially applicable incentives.
  • Implementation coordination. Sequence the entry plan, establish responsibilities and support progress across markets.
Discuss your expansion plans
06

Turnaround & restructuring

Understand the pressure, stabilize and plan the recovery.

Cash constraints, declining margins or underperforming operations call for a clear assessment and decisive priorities. We help you understand what is driving the pressure, compare recovery options and coordinate a plan to stabilize the business while you address the underlying issues.

Practical deliverables

A short-term cash-flow view, prioritized recovery plan and progress reporting for owners, management and key stakeholders.

Where legal, tax or formal insolvency work is required, we coordinate with the appropriate specialist professionals.

A mandate can include

  • Business assessment. Review strategic, financial, operational and leadership issues to identify the sources of pressure.
  • Cash-flow planning. Improve visibility into near-term cash needs, commitments and financing constraints.
  • Recovery priorities. Evaluate cost, margin, process and management changes; assign actions and track progress.
  • Restructuring options. Assess operational, corporate and financing alternatives in the context of the business and its stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder coordination. Prepare for discussions with lenders, shareholders and existing professional advisors.
  • Implementation support. Work alongside management on agreed actions and review the plan as circumstances change.
Discuss your situation confidentially

Services can be combined in one mandate. We agree priorities, deliverables, responsibilities, timelines and fees before work begins.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A clearer view
of working together.

Can we combine several areas of support? +

Yes. A growth plan may also need financing, stronger operations or a leadership transition. We connect the relevant partners and agree one coordinated scope, with clear responsibilities and deliverables.

Can you help if my business is struggling? +

We can help assess strategic, financial and operational challenges and identify where Amati’s involvement could be useful. The first conversation establishes the nature of the problem and whether our capabilities fit your needs. Recovery options depend on the circumstances of the business.

Do I need to be ready to sell? +

No. Improving operations, building management depth and clarifying your goals can help long before a sale or transition. We start with where you are today.

Can you work with our existing advisors? +

Yes. We work with your team and existing advisors so business, ownership and recovery decisions stay connected. Where legal, tax or formal insolvency matters arise, we coordinate with lawyers, tax professionals or Licensed Insolvency Trustees as appropriate. Amati’s role is business advisory and implementation support.

What happens in the first conversation? +

We discuss your immediate concerns, objectives and the decisions ahead. We then determine what information is needed, whether Amati is the right fit and what an initial assessment could cover. Scope, responsibilities and fees are agreed before work proceeds.

Will you help put the plan into action? +

Implementation support can form part of the engagement. We agree how the partners will work with your management team, which actions each party will own and how progress will be reviewed. The scope is tailored to the needs and resources of the business.
